Gamedays are Tuesday Nights/ Sunday afternoons. Some weeks will be one of the days; some weeks will have both but will even out to an equal amount of games for each team.

EOPL LEAGUE RULES/BYLAWS

1. League Overview

The EOPL Summer League is an organized 11v11 outdoor competition operating from May to August. The league is designed to provide a structured, competitive environment in a professionally managed setting.

All matches are governed by the official FIFA Laws of the Game, unless otherwise specified in this document.

All teams and players agree to abide by these rules upon registration.

2. Player Eligibility

  • All players must complete official league registration.
  • All players must complete the required liability waiver.
  • Players may only be registered to one team per division.
  • Teams must submit final rosters by the deadline set by league administration.
  • Part time players can play half of the regular season games and are eligible to play in playoffs IF they have played a minimum of 2 regular season games.
  • New players can be signed up on teams with remaining spots up until June 21st with approval from the league.

League administrators reserve the right to verify eligibility at any time.

3. Team Rosters

  • Minimum roster size: 14 players
  • Maximum roster size: 18 players
  • Minimum players required to start a match: 7
  • Teams unable to field 7 players within 10 minutes of kickoff may forfeit the match.
  • Guest players are not permitted unless approved in writing by league administration.

All roster additions must be approved by league administration.

4. Match Format

  • 11v11 outdoor format
  • Two 45-minute halves
  • 10-minute halftime
  • All matches follow the official FIFA Laws of the Game

Substitutions

  • Unlimited substitutions are permitted at match stoppages.
  • Substitutions are permitted immediately if a player is injured.

5. Points System

  • Win: 3 points
  • Draw: 1 point
  • Loss: 0 points

Tiebreakers (in order):

  1. Goal difference
  2. Goals scored
  3. Head-to-head result
  4. Disciplinary record
  5. Coin toss (if required)

6. Discipline & Fines

Yellow Cards

  • Two yellow cards in the same match = red card.
  • Accumulation policy: 3 yellow cards in a season results in a 1-match suspension and a $10 fine, payable within 48 hours.
  • Failure to pay fines may result in additional suspension until payment is received.

Red Cards

  • Automatic 1-match suspension
  • $50 fine, payable within 48 hours of the match
  • Failure to pay fine may result in further suspension
  • Additional suspension may be imposed depending on the severity of the offence

Serious misconduct, violent conduct, abuse of referees, or abuse toward league staff may result in extended suspension or removal from the league.

All disciplinary decisions made by league administration are final.

7. Forfeits

  • Failure to field the minimum required players results in a 3–0 loss.
  • Repeated forfeits may result in removal from the league.
  • No refunds will be issued for forfeited matches.

8. Protests & Disputes

  • All protests must be submitted in writing within 24 hours of the match.
  • A formal review will be conducted by league administration.
  • All decisions are final.

9. Match Recording & Media

All matches will be recorded and livestreamed.

By participating in the EOPL Summer League, all players and team officials acknowledge and consent to:

  • Video recording of all matches
  • Livestream broadcast of matches
  • Use of match footage for promotional, social media, and marketing purposes
  • Publication of match highlights and images

Participation in the league constitutes full consent to media recording and distribution.

10. Conduct & Liability

  • Players participate at their own risk.
  • Completion of the liability waiver is mandatory at sign up.
  • Abuse toward referees, players, spectators, or league officials will not be tolerated.
  • The league reserves the right to remove any participant for misconduct.

11. Weather & Cancellations

  • Matches may be postponed due to unsafe field or weather conditions.
  • Rescheduling is at the discretion of league administration.
  • Registration fees are non-refundable once the season begins.

12. Amendments

EOPL reserves the right to modify or update these rules when necessary to preserve the integrity and proper operation of the league.
